27.06.2019 – Imperiale Racing is ready to get again on track in the Italian round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe 2019 that will take place this coming weekend at the Misano World Circuit.
The Italian team will field four Lamborghini Huracàn Super Trofeo equipped with the Evo kit for this round. The #44 car will be driven by Vito Postiglione (ITA) and Kikko Galbiati (ITA), Karol Basz (PL) and Bartosz Paziewski (PL) will be on the #8 car, while Habs Fabri (NL) will drive the #88 car and the #55 will compete in Pro-Am with Loris Spinelli (ITA) and Piero Necchi (ITA) at the debut with Imperiale Racing.
Spinelli, class 1995, despite his young age, has several wins under his belt on karts first and then on Lamborghini since his debut year in 2015, when he claimed the victory in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo in Pro-Am Cup. He also won the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe 2017, the North America Pro-Am Series in 2018 and the Pro-Am title at the World Finals in Vallelunga last year.
The #55 pairing will be completed by Piero Necchi, class 1951. He is a very experienced driver and his racing debut dates back to 1970. After several years behind the wheel of Formula cars and the second place in the Italian Formula Ford 2000 in 1976, Necchi started his career on Grand Touring cars in 2008. Necchi took part in the Italian GT Championship Endurance and won it in 2011. He also contested several endurance races like the 6 Hours of Rome, that he ended on the podium in P3 in 2013. His debut on the Lamborghini Huracàn came in 2016, while last year he took part in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe in category AM claiming three podiums.
The challenge in Misano will be staged by the 4.226 meters of the circuit named after Marco Simoncelli. Right after the start, drivers will face the Parco chicane and the technical initial part that includes the Rio corner and turns 5 and 6. The mid sector is faster and the rhythm is broken by the Quercia and Tramonto corners that might offer overtaking chances. The wide corner before the Carro turn is quite spectacular and introduces to the final technical sector that leads again on the Misano main straight.
The appointment in Misano will be partially overnight in this edition too. On Friday, the double free practice session will take place at 15:10 and 19:00 (GMT +2). The two qualifying sessions will follow on Saturday at 10:50, while race one will get underway with headlights on at 22:10. Drivers will get again behind the wheel on Sunday at 15:40 for race two.
Both races will be available through the link on the new web site of Imperiale racing: imperialeracing.it, while the social channels @imperialeracing will provide all the updates from the racing field starting from free practice on Friday.
Luca Del Grosso (Imperiale Racing, Team Manager):
“The weekend of Misano is always quite charming because it is the only appointment of the season taking place overnight and because it is our home race in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe. The motivation of the whole team is quite high and, as in all the other rounds, we will build our performance step by step trying to allow our drivers to find the right feeling with the Lamborghini Huracàn Super Trofeo Evo since the beginning”.
