13.03.2020 – Andrés Saravia (GCA) and Diego Menchaca (MEX) will share driving duties in the #19 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo in International GT Open 2020.
After the announcement of Leonardo Pulcini (ITA) and Giovanni Venturini (ITA) in the #63 car, Imperiale Racing announces a top-class line-up with two PRO pairings.
Andrés Saravia, class 1990, has been a strong protagonist of the International GT Open in the past two years, he was second in 2018 and fourth in 2019. In two seasons he totalled fourteen placings with six wins, four second and four third places. The debut in the series organized by GT Sport dates back to 2016 when he took part only in the race at Estoril (P) in class Pro-Am, taking P2.
He moved his first steps in motorsport at the 3 Horas de Costa Rica 2010, while from 2012 to 2015 he competed on formula cars, coming to the fore in Panam GP Series Abarth, Formula 3 European Open Winter Series, Euroformula Open and in the Spanish F3.
From 2016 he moved to the GT cars and this is his first experience with Lamborghini.
The 26 years old next October, Diego Menchaca will be at his second season in closed wheel racing with the company based in Sant’Agata Bolognese.
After the debut in karting, he moved to single-seaters from 2010, where he competed up to 2018 taking a great P3 at the Latam Challenge Series F2000 2011 and several important results in the British BRDS Formula 4 Championship, in the Spanish F3 and Euroformula Open. He acquired important International experience in World Series Formula V8 2017 and in the prestigious GP3 in 2018.
Last year, he secured the podium in Monza at the debut in the race valid for Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup in silver class.
The International GT Open 2020 season will mark Imperiale Racing’s comeback in the championship after the wins in 2017 and 2018. The challenge will kick off from the Paul Ricard in Le Castellet (FRA) on April 24-26, and will unfold in seven rounds that will take place a the most important circuits in Europe, namely, Monza (ITA) and Hockenheim (GER), Barcelona (ESP), Spa-Francorchamps (B), Hungaroring (H) and Red Bull Ring (B).
