13.07.2020 – A few days are left before the opening race that is due this coming weekend at the Circuit of Mugello and Imperiale Racing confirms the commitment in the Italian Grand Touring Endurance 2020 Championship with Kikko Galbiati (ITA), Vito Postiglione (ITA) and Giovanni Venturini (ITA).
The Italian team will make it to the track with the #32 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo featuring a new livery dedicated to all the sanitary staff that fought the Covid-19 from the front line. The Mirandola-based outfit will field a new and top-class drivers lineup ready to challenge the rivals in a championship that announces to be very exciting and competitive.
Kikko Galbiati, 22 years old next October, will continue his adventure with Imperiale Racing after the second place obtained last year in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe. He has been racing on a Lamborghini since 2016 when he made the debut in the European single-make championship taking the victory and setting the fastest lap of AM in Valencia. His growth behind the wheel of the Huracán has been remarkable. He claimed nearly 30 podiums in four years and 12 wins. Galbiati has already contested the Italian GT Championship in 2016 and 2017.
Vito Postiglione, class 1977, has been raising Imperiale Racing’s flag high since 2016. He has been competing in the GT3 and in the Super Trofeo contributing to writing some of the most exciting pages in the history of the team. Among his highlights, Postiglione came second at the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe 2019 and 2018, third at the 2017 edition. He came second in the World Finals 2016 and claimed several wins in the Renault Megane Sport Cup 2000, in the Ferrari Challenge – Trofeo Pirelli 2007, when he also won the World title, in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia 2012 and, last but not least, the Italian GT Championship 2013.
Giovanni Venturini, class 1991, will be back to Imperiale Racing after the seasons 2017 and 2018 when he contested the International GT Open and won the 2017 title giving a fundamental contribution to the victory of the teams’ title in both seasons. Venturini is a Lamborghini Factory Driver that has a lot of experience on the cars made in Sant’Agata Bolognese as he has been racing them since 2014. His scoreboard includes 12 wins, 52 podiums and 5 pole positions. He took part in the Italian GT Championship 2015 and 2016 with Imperiale Racing.
