30.08.2022 – Imperiale Racing is getting ready to restart the engines of the #6 and #9 Lamborghini Huracàn GT3 Evo for the third round of the Italian GT Sprint 2022 Championship at the Circuit Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari of Imola this weekend after the summer break.
At the circuit of Santerno it will be crucial to secure a strong result to stay in the fight for the drivers’ championship and Imperiale Racing will field the two official lineups: Alberto di Folco (ITA) and Stuart Middleton (GB) in the #6 car and Paul August (LTU) in the #9.
Imola is certainly one of the most charming venues of this season and the 4.909 metres of the circuit always provide challenges and duels. The lap starts with the long pit straight that bends to the right in correspondence with the pits. The first chicane is the Tamburello, while the following Villeneuve leads into the Tosa bend, which is a perfect spot for overtaking moves. The circuit continues uphill up to the Piratella, where it starts going down to the Acque Minerali chicane. Another important braking point is at the Variante Alta before heading down again for the legendary Rivazza, which reconnects with the main straight.
Luca Del Grosso (Team Manager):
“Our main goal is to win with Alberto and Stuart and to get the podium that we missed so far with Paul. We need to score solid points to stay in the fight for the championship, therefore we will give our best from the word go because we know we have a solid package and we can count on the grit of the pit crew and drivers. The entry list is one of the longest of the season, things won’t be easy on the track, even if these are sprint races we will have to devise a good strategy to get the most of every chance. Imola is a complete circuit, we have good data to prepare the setup of the cars even though weather can play a part. We are ready for the challenge”.
