06.02.2020 – Following the triumphant seasons 2017 and 2018, Imperiale Racing is gearing up to return to the International GT Open as a Lamborghini reference team. The young talent Leonardo Pulcini (ITA) will make his debut in GT cars and, particularly, in the cars from Sant’Agata Bolognese.
The comeback to the Lamborghini Huracàn of Imperiale Racing in the popular series organized by GT Sport will be the third presence of the Italian team in this championship after the debut in 2017 that resulted in the drivers and teams titles, that were won again in 2018.
Leonardo Pulcini, class 1998, won the ROK Cup International Final 2012 in Junior ROK at only 13 years of age. In 2013 he was the runner up in the Italian KF3 kart championship and was also second in the CIK-FIA World KF-Junior Championship.
The move to single-seaters happened in 2014 in the Italian Formula 4. Pulcini ended his maiden season in fourth place. He competed then in Euroformula Open, series that he won in 2016 at the end of an exciting season in which he claimed seven wins and sixteen podiums in as many races.
Pulcini switched to GP3 (now FIA Formula 3) in 2017 and has been competing in this series until last year, claiming seven podiums, three wins, two pole positions and the overall P4 in 2018.
Pulcini will be part of the Lamborghini GT3 Junior Program and will make up the #63 PRO lineup in the Lamborghini Huracàn GT3 Evo with Lamborghini Factory Driver Giovanni Venturini (ITA), who has been International GT Open Champion with Imperiale Racing in 2017.
The crew of the #19 car to complete Imperiale Racing’s lineup for the International GT Open 2020 will be announced shortly.
