The Italian outfit will, therefore, continue its experience in this championship that has been full of success since its debut in 2011. Imperiale Racing’s colors will be defended by a top class drivers line-up in this forthcoming campaign. His experience on Lamborghini is very important and this, added to his long career on GT cars, makes him one of the certain protagonists of the series. Postiglione was second at the Lamborghini World Finals 2016 after claiming several wins on GT cars, including the Renault Megane Sport Cup 2000 the Ferrari Challenge – Trofeo Pirelli 2007 – year in which he also won the World title, Porsche Carrera Cup Italia 2012 and GT Championship 2013.
Kikko Galbiati will be sharing driving duties with Postiglione on the #44 Lamborghini Huracàn Super Trofeo Evo. The two made their debut as a pairing at the Hankook 12 Hours of Mugello 2019. Class 1998, Galbiati has been competing on Lamborghini since 2016 when he made his debut in the Super Trofeo Europe – that this year he will contest for the third time, winning the race and posting the fastest time AM in Valencia. In 2017 he was second in Pro-Am, while last year he moved to PRO claiming four podiums and displaying a good maturity and constancy of results.
Karol Basz has been confirmed on the #8 car. Class 1991, Basz is about to contest his second season with Imperiale Racing after the second place in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe 2018 with Postiglione. The Polish driver started his career in karting at fourteen and won the CIK-FIA International Super Cup 2013, WSK Champions Cup 2014, CIK-FIA World KF Championship 2015 and Final Cup WSK 2016. He made his debut on GT cars at the Italian GT Championship – Super GT Cup 2017 claiming three podiums and a pole position. He already secured a strong result in 2019 taking second at the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East.
The drivers’ line-up will be completed by the very young Pole Bartosz Paziewski. Class 2002, he will be at the debut both in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europa and with Imperiale Racing. Paziewski started on karts at ten claiming good results before switching to closed wheel racing in 2017 taking sixth in the Renault Clio Cup Central Europe. Last year he was third in the Audi Sport Seyffarth R8 LMS Cup.
Imperiale Racing confirmed the Dutch Hans Fabri on the #88 car. Class 1960, Fabri will be at his second full season after the two podiums taken last year in Misano and Vallelunga. Fabri made his racing debut in 2015 claiming two P3 in AM in the two closing races of Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Benelux. This is going to be his third experience in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, as he contested the two closing rounds of 2017 too.
Luca Del Grosso (Imperiale Racing, Team Manager):
“The Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe is maybe the main sporting category for Imperiale Racing. We have been protagonists of this series since 2011 and this year we want to compete with renewed enthusiasm aiming to the highest possible result and to improve ourselves using all our experience and determination. We have three very strong lineups that will certainly make the most of every chance to shine. The pre-season testing session in Misano will be very important to prepare the first round and I believe we could be strong in Silverstone”.
Imperiale Racing will get on track at the Misano World Circuit for a testing session next April 29-30th ahead of the opener in Silverstone (GB) on May 11-12th.
