10.11.2022 – The third place in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe LB Cup secured by Imperiale Racing and Hans Fabri (NL) in Portimão (P) is the last result obtained by the Mirandola-based team in this exciting 2022 campaign.

Imperiale Racing’s commitment to the Lamborghini single-make trophy has been faced with the brand new Lamborghini Huracàn Super Trofeo Evo 2 driven this year by Fabri and Manuel Bejarano (ESP). The results highlighted once again the relentless search for excellence and performance by the whole group, which obtained the first podium among the teams in 2011.

The round of Portimão included, as a tradition of the closing act of the championship, the Grand Finals and only Fabri was on track. He rewarded Imperiale Racing’s effort with a lot of satisfaction as he managed to get on the podium of both races in the closer to the Super Trofeo and was close to a significant result in the Grand Finals too.

The crucial aspect of the weekend has been the constancy which rewarded Fabri, who managed to recover several places in both races of the closing round and earn important points. The racetrack of Portimão is quite famous for its up and down hills and proved to be quite selective. Fabri ended the two qualifying sessions of LB Cup in seventh place, envisaging two challenging races.

In the two races, the Dutch gentleman driver managed to make the most of all the occasions, kept his effective pace and claimed two third places that allowed him to end with a spectacular P3 in the final classification of LB Cup.

Due to these premises, everything seemed in place to get another strong result in the Grand Finals, but the high level of the drivers – all the best drivers of LB Cup of the Lamborghini clients races worldwide – made things trickier for him. Fabri qualified his #88 Lamborghini Huracàn Super Trofeo Evo 2 in P10 of both sessions ready to bounce back in the race.

The pace and constancy in race one allowed Fabri to close in on the top of the classification, but an unexpected technical problem forced him to retire from the race. The Dutch driver recovered two places in race two and ended eighth.

Luca Del Grosso (Imperiale Racing, Team Manager):
The Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe 2022 has been quite successful this year. We claimed eight podiums, two in the overall classification with Manuel and six with Hans, who honourably defended the victory obtained last year in LB Cup. Both drivers always had the right attitude, also in the most difficult situations and were pushed by the team’s motivation, converting their grit into results. I am sorry that Manuel could not be present at the end of the season, he is very talented and never over the top. This approach will certainly allow him to be successful. Hans has been surprising once again, he won the first race and got two times on the podium in Spa and Portimão psyching everyone up with two amazing recoveries. The collaboration with him has been very intense over the years and his being literally a gentleman confirmed once more that believing in the result until the closing lap is the best approach”.
