28.07.2020 – A new chapter, a new restart, a new challenge is ahead. Imperiale Racing is gearing up to get again on track this coming weekend for the opening meeting of the Italian GT 2020 Championship at the Misano World Circuit.
The Mirandola-based team will line up the #32 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo that will be driven by Kikko Galbiati (ITA) and Giovanni Venturini (ITA). The pairing is also contesting the Endurance series of the Italian championship and can be named as one of the most interesting lineups of the season.
The opening round will take place on the circuit located in the Romagna area, that is the home race for Imperiale Racing. The team has also run some pre-season testing at this circuit ahead of this round. Misano is 4.226m long, a mostly flat circuit featuring 10 corners on the right and 5 left-handers. The Variante del Parco leads into a driven first sector, while the Tramonto and Quercia corners characterize the mid sector. The Curvone leads into the closing sector that is more technical and is ended by the Misano bend that takes drivers on to the start/finish straight again.
The action of the weekend will get underway on Friday with two free practice sessions at local 10:50 and 16:25. Saturday is going to be the most intense day with two fifteen minutes long qualifying sessions at 10:40 and 11:05 to define the starting grid of the two races. Race one will get underway at 18:40, while race two will be on Sunday at 14:30.
The official website of the championship www.acisport.it/CIGT and the Facebook page @CIGranTurismo will cover both races live, while RAI Sport (CH 58 FreeView) and MS Motor TV (CH 228 SKY) will be in the front line to grant media coverage to the event. The media coverage will be made official shortly by ACI Sport.
Luca Del Grosso (Imperiale Racing – Team Manager):
“We are all highly motivated for the round in Misano. This is an important appointment that marks the beginning of a very important championship for us. The data we collected on track are positive, but compared to the testing done here temperatures will be higher, which might change some values in the setup of the car. We are ready and, as usual, we will give our best to be again among the protagonists”.
