16.05.2019 – Imperiale Racing’s Italian GT Championship 2019 Endurance campaign will resume next weekend from the Misano World Circuit, that will stage the second round of the season.
Imperiale Racing will field two Lamborghini Huracàn GT3 Evo for the PRO lineups made by Vito Postiglione (ITA), Jeroen Mul (NL) and Alex Frassineti (ITA) that will share the drive on the #63 car, while Pietro Perolini (ITA), Ben Gersekowski (AUS) that come from a splendid win in the opener will have this time Emanuele Zonzini (ITA) competing together with them in Pro-Am on the #19 car.
Zonzini is a new entry of the line-up of the #19 car and will be at the debut with Imperiale Racing. Class 1994, the driver from San Marino started his career in Formula Abarth where he came third in the Italian Championship in 2012 and has been the protagonist of an amazing European season with 9 podiums. After the move to closed wheels in 2014 and some races in GP3, he made his debut in the Italian GT where he came second in 2016. He was second last year at the Lamborghini World Finals in Pro-Am.
The stage of this exciting challenge that will see top-level teams and drivers challenging each other, will be the 4.226 meters of the circuit in Misano named after Marco Simoncelli. This flat circuit features some very fast sectors and strong braking zones joined by more technical parts. After the main straight, drivers will go through the Variante del Parco, that will lead drivers to a linear sector up to the Curva del Rio. The mid sector will allow drivers to unleash their speed again but also includes the Quercia and Tramonto corners. The final sector is more driven and includes the Carro and Misano bends before rejoining the main straight.
The weekend could be characterized by rain. It will start on Friday with two free practice sessions at 11:00 and 17:15, both run on the length of one hour and a half. Saturday drivers will get again on track for qualifying: the three sessions will be at 13:45 (Q1), 14:10 (Q2) and 14:35 (Q3) and will draw only one classification based on the best times of each session. The 3 hours long race will take place on Sunday at 15:40.

Luca Del Grosso (Imperiale Racing, Team Manager):
“We are highly motivated ahead of the round in Misano. In the opener we showed good potential and fought for top positions claiming an important win in Pro-Am, therefore we will have to serve a time handicap with the #19 car. Our goal will be to work since free practice to allow drivers to get a good feeling with the cars and track to run a strong weekend. Details will make the difference as always”.
