02.09.2019 – A perfect weekend and two amazing wins have been claimed by Imperiale Racing at Nürburgring (GER) in the penultimate round of Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe 2019.
The Italian team got to the start resolute to close the gap to the top of the charts and ran two very strong races. On the track, Imperiale Racing’s colours have been defended by the Lamborghini Huracàn Super Trofeo Evo #44 and #88 driven, respectively, by the PRO pairing made by Vito Postiglione (ITA) and Kikko Galbiati (ITA) and Hans Fabri (NL) in LC.
The feeling with the 5.148 meters of the German racetrack in its GP configuration has been great since the beginning and Imperiale Racing’s Postiglione and Galbiati led both the Friday sessions as Fabri found a good rhythm. The positive feeling was confirmed in qualifying and Galbiati posted a 1:59.958s ending Q1 in third place, while Fabri was fifth of LC in 2’07.603s. Postiglione put in a great performance in Q2 and completed his best lap after 1:59.447s taking the fourth pole position of the season. Fabri improved his time to 2’06.410s and was fifth again in LC.
Race one has been very exciting. Galbiati put in a good getaway and started a nice battle with Bartholomew in the first corners taking P2. At the pit stop, the team decided to go for an undercut and made Galbiati stop at the pit opening. This decision paid off and Postiglione, later on, pushed hard on the #44 car taking the lead. A great pace allowed the Italian to build a strong advantage and to take the third win of the season.
Fabri also ran a positive race in LC. The Dutch driver found a great pace that allowed him to get one position back and to place the #88 Lamborghini Huracàn Super Trofeo Evo to the final fourth place.
Race two has been flawless. Postiglione did not leave any room to his rivals in the #44 car and Imperiale Racing’s driver kept the lead until the pit stop when Galbiati took the lead. The Italian has been as effective and did not make any mistakes claiming the second win of the weekend and taking some further points for the title quest.
Fabri ran another solid race in LC from the starting P5 and closed his effort in fourth place again.
Luca Del Grosso (Imperiale Racing, Team Manager):
“We showed our character and motivation which makes me proud of the whole team that managed the weekend very professionally. Drivers drove at perfection, the staff identified the best strategies to leave Nürburgring only 5 points short of the top of the driver’s classification which is a great sign before the closing round. It is difficult to celebrate in such a sad weekend for motorsport and our thoughts are for Anthoine Hubert that left us too young and too soon”.

Imperiale Racing will get back on track for the closing round of Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe 2019 and Lamborghini World Finals at the Ángel Nieto circuit in Jerez de la Frontera (ESP) from October 24th to 27th.
