11.03.2022 – Imperiale Racing is proud to announce the lineup that will exchange behind the wheel of the #6 Lamborghini Huracàn GT3 Evo In the Italian GT Endurance 2022 Championship. The young driver from Guatemala Mateo Llarena will share driving duties with the Mexican Raúl Guzmán Marchina and the Dutch Daan Pijl.
The Mirandola-based team will field a completely new and very young drivers’ lineup that will take part in a very high-level competition like the Italian GT Championship on a top-class car like the Huracàn GT3 Evo that has recently been painted with a brand new and sleek livery.
Llarena, class 2004, comes from his second appearance at the 24 Hours of Daytona and is getting ready to contest his also second 12 Hours of Sebring. Last year he had his best season so far with Imperiale Racing in the Italian GT Sprint 2021 Championship being one of the youngest drivers ever on the podium. In the last season, he also competed in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship in LMP3 class, being the youngest driver in history to claim the pole position in the serial, he did it at Watkins Glen, New York. Like a lot of drivers, he started his career with karting at 4 years-old and after a short experience with Formula 4 racing, he switched to closed-wheel competitions. In 2019 Llarena made his debut in the Campeonato Nacional Guatemala GT4 taking 8 podiums in 9 races claiming the Championship; while in 2020 he has been competing on three fronts. He took part in the Fara USA Hankook 500 in LMP3 where he was crowned the Champion, in GT Challenge de Las Americas in GTS ending third, and in the prestigious Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, where he set four new records: the youngest entrant, the youngest driver into the points, the youngest to complete the season and the best Latin-American driver of all times.
Guzman, class 1999, has followed the usual path of motorsport. He made his debut in karting in 2014 winning the SKUSA SuperNationals XVIII. In 2015 he switched to the Italian Formula 4 powered by Abarth, the series in which he came third overall in 2016. His career continued in some of the most important junior open-wheel categories like the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup, Euroformula Open and Formula Regional European Championship that he contested in 2019. Guzman made his debut on GT cars in 2020 in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe. He claimed one win and a second place in Misano.
Pijl just turned 18. Despite not starting his career with karting, he made his debut in motorsport at thirteen years of age winning the Ford Fiesta Sprint Cup Benelux in 2019. Fast, constant and precise, he contested a great 2021. Shining at the VRM BMW M2 Cup and Italian Sprint GT Cup with pole’s and wins. Parallel to a full season in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, where he has been one of the main protagonists with 3 overall wins.

The season will get underway on May 12-15 at the Circuit of Pergusa, Sicily.
