02.12.2020 – The closing act of the Italian GT Sprint Championship will get underway this coming weekend at the circuit of Vallelunga and Imperiale Racing will be one of the big protagonists of this double challenge fielding the #32 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo driven by Giovanni Venturini (ITA) and Alex Frassineti (ITA).
The Mirandola-based team ran this year a very solid season, full of exciting moments and strong performances by the whole team. The objective in Vallelunga will be to give the best and play all the team’s cards to take the #32 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo as high as possible. The absence of Galbiati, who is quarantined due to the contact with a person that tested positive to Covid-19, will require the debut in this championship of the pairing Venturini-Frassineti, that have already shared driving duties in the Endurance series. For Imperiale Racing this is going to be anther important challenge in this closing part of season 2020.
The big unknown is the weather as a rainy weekend seems to be ahead, but Imperiale Racing will benefit from the great data collected at the circuit named after Piero Taruffi at the penultimate round of the Endurance series in September – when the Italian team secured the win, to start with a base-line setup.
The weekend will kick off on Friday with two free practice sessions at 11:15 and 14:35, while qualifying on Saturday will be at 10:40 (Q1) and 11:10 (Q2). Race one will get green lights on Saturday at 15:00, while race two will be at 11:00.
Both races will be available through the live streaming feed at www.acisport.it/CIGT, at the Facebook page @CIGranTurismo and will be shared at the page @ImperialeRacing. RAI Sport (CH 58 Freeview) and MS Motor TV (CH 228 SKY) will show the event on TV. The TV Programmation will be published on the website of the championship shortly.
Luca Del Grosso (Imperiale Racing – Team Manager):
“I would like to thank Kikko for the great job done this year and wish him to get soon on track. He had a part in the victory and two podiums we claimed in the Sprint and Endurance series, therefore we will give our best to end the season on a high in a year in which, due also to this pandemic that required changes among the drivers and staff, became a great team effort with only one collective aim: bringing Imperiale Racing to the top. We had very positive indications from Vallelunga last September, even though the rain will likely shuffle the cards, but we are confident on our potential and resolute to get the most of it on track”.
